symposium: noun, plural sym·po·si·a
A meeting or conference for the discussion of some subject, especially a meeting at which several speakers talk on or discuss a topic before an audience.
Literacy Texas invites regional literacy organizations throughout the state to join the local peers and colleagues at regional literacy symposia.
Symposia provide free professional development for volunteers and staff at nonprofit, community-based organizations.
Your local symposium is an excellent place to learn and network with other literacy providers in your region, and a great source of professional development for adult literacy instructors.
