We’re always ready to show our appreciation for volunteers!
For many years, the Literacy Texas Annual Awards were our best opportunity to show our admiration and affection for the amazing volunteers who are at the heart of so many adult and family literacy programs. Awardees were traditionally recognized at the Literacy Texas Annual Conference.
Now we have a new way to celebrate – a way that lets us focus on multiple volunteers every year, all throughout the year.
Introducing – Volunteer Stories.
Volunteers make so much possible that otherwise wouldn’t happen. We love to profile the work and dedication of volunteers across Texas who are making a difference in adult and family literacy programs.
We invite you to submit the stories of your volunteers. We hope to highlight multiple stories every year, to show how much can be achieved by those giving the gift of their time. And if your story is selected, we’ll send your literacy program $150.
Make sure you have the volunteer’s full written permission before you submit their story and photos – there’s a release form linked below – and put the story as much in their own words as possible.
We’ll include stories here on our website, in our newsletter, on social media – as many places as we can!
