We love getting the chance to celebrate adult students!
For many years, the Literacy Texas Annual Awards were our best opportunity to show our admiration and affection for those we all work alongside. Awardees were traditionally recognized at the Literacy Texas Annual Conference.
Now we have a new way to celebrate – a way that lets us focus on multiple students every year, all throughout the year.
Introducing – Student Stories.
There’s something very powerful about telling one’s own story. Profiling the journeys and accomplishments of adult students in Texas literacy programs can show the power and effects of our work like little else.
We invite you to submit the stories of your students. We hope to highlight multiple stories every year, to show how much lives can be improved through literacy. And if your story is selected, we’ll send your literacy program $200.
Make sure you have the student’s full written permission before you submit their story and photos – there’s a release form linked below – and work with them to put the story as much in their own words as possible.
We’ll include stories here on our website, in our newsletter, on social media – as many places as we can shout their success from the rooftops!
