At Literacy Texas, we’re very aware of the need for ongoing, quality support for new leaders in literacy and other nonprofit organizations. When resources are tight, it can be difficult to know where to turn to get answers on core topics – but those answers are crucial to leaders’ ability to offer quality programs.
Leadership Training has taken multiple forms at Literacy Texas in recent years. It has taken the form of an in-person day of training held in various locations around the state, and an optional third day at the annual conference.
Based on what we’ve heard from you, the current format is What Leaders Need, a series of online training sessions, each with a particular focus.

The 2023-24 grant year leadership training calendar is still being confirmed, but here are the planned dates (watch our website and newsletter for updates):
- Tuesday, December 5, 2023: Grant-Writing
- Tuesday, February 6, 2024: Data Management & CQI
- Thursday, May 2, 2024: Communications & Marketing
What topics should we consider for next year’s schedule? Tell us in the single-question poll below.
Don’t forget – you can check our calendar for online trainings available anywhere you can access the internet, and browse our YouTube channel for recordings of past training and professional development events.
