Description
In this workshop we’ll apply plain language strategies to the communication formats you use with students.
We’ll talk about giving clear instructions, creating usable worksheets and handouts, and communicating with students via text and email. Learn writing strategies to center your audience and explore how plain language supports equity and inclusion.
What we'll cover:
In this session, you’ll get hands-on practice applying plain language strategies to classroom communications.
Together, we’ll:
- Explore the value of using plain language with students
- Analyze learning content for elements of plain language
- Apply plain language strategies to classroom processes, like giving instructions and asking for feedback
