Literacy Texas partners with regional literacy organizations throughout the state to offer one-day literacy symposiums.

Funded by the Volunteer Training Initiative grant from the Texas Workforce Commission, these symposiums provide free professional development for volunteers and staff of nonprofit, community-based, and faith-based organizations.

Symposiums are an excellent place to learn and network with other literacy providers in your region, and a great source of professional development for volunteer instructors.

Regions where symposiums are currently offered:

  • South Texas
  • East Texas
  • South Plains
  • DFW
  • Gulf Coast

We also present one symposium specifically for faith-based literacy programs; this event is usually held online to serve as many people as possible. Dates and other details about upcoming symposiums are listed in our calendar, as well as in our newsletter and on Literacy Texas social media.
