Description
Literacy does not begin only in classrooms—it begins in conversations, routines, stories, and everyday moments at home. This engaging and practical session is designed to help educators, parent programs, and community organizations understand how simple daily interactions can significantly strengthen children’s reading, writing, speaking, and language development.
Participants will explore easy, realistic literacy practices families can implement regardless of educational background, language proficiency, or access to resources. The session emphasizes that meaningful literacy growth can happen during car rides, grocery shopping, cooking dinner, storytelling, conversations, music, and shared experiences.
What we'll cover:
This workshop focuses on empowering families with approachable strategies that build confidence instead of pressure. Attendees will leave with practical ideas that help families make literacy a natural part of daily life.
