About This Session
Description
This session helps literacy programs strategically connect with local health partners to strengthen learners’ health literacy beyond the classroom. Participants identify potential collaborators such as clinics, hospitals, and health departments and explore shared goals that benefit both sectors.
Through asset mapping and small-group planning, they develop practical, low-risk partnership ideas like guest speakers, health events, or co-created materials. The session emphasizes actionable planning and guides participants to draft a simple first-step partnership plan and commit to a concrete next step they can implement in their own program.
What we'll cover:
Participants will be able to:
- Identify potential local health partners and shared goals.
- Name at least two low‑risk, high‑benefit partnership activities (e.g., guest speakers, health fairs, co‑created materials).
- Draft a simple first‑step partnership plan to take back to their program.
