Learn the power of AI to support your students’ learning with prompts to create vocabulary practices, sentence stems, conversation questions, short reading passages at low-high proficiency level, and much more.
About This Session
Description
This interactive, hands-on workshop is designed for adult educators who support learners developing digital literacy skills or who already have foundational technology experience and are ready to deepen their practice.
Participants will explore how artificial intelligence can intentionally scaffold reading and writing instruction, while also extending learning for students who are ready for more advanced tasks. The session highlights practical strategies for using Google’s free AI platform, Gemini, to differentiate instruction based on individual proficiency levels, language development needs, and content-area demands.
Educators will learn how to design effective prompts that generate leveled texts, vocabulary supports, sentence frames, writing models, and comprehension questions across subject areas. Through guided practice, participants will create ready-to-use AI prompts tailored to their learners’ needs.
By the end of the workshop, educators will leave with adaptable tools, increased confidence, and a clear framework for integrating AI to enhance literacy development in meaningful and responsible ways.
What we'll cover:
