To be responsive to what we’ve heard you need, we now ask once a year for expressions of interest in hosting symposia. We welcome interest from organizations across Texas!
We have these goals:
- Present high-quality symposia that meet local needs.
- Offer symposia in regions where they are most needed.
- Reach more people in Texas with quality professional development.
- Connect with new prospective presenting partners.
- Offer flexible symposium format options (full- or half-day; online or in-person).
You may have been a symposium co-presenter with Literacy Texas in the past, or you may be interested in presenting for the first time – we’re interested in hearing from everyone.
Expressions of Interest Process
We’ve tried to keep the process as simple and straightforward as possible. There are two main elements:
- Read the planning guidelines
- Complete the interest form
Expressions of interest for the 2023-24 grant year closed on Friday, July 14, 2023.
Stay tuned for the 2024-25 process, which will open in summer 2024.
2023-24 Timeline
- July 14: Expressions of interest close for 2023-24
- Conversations with prospective partners
- August 18: Decisions made for 2023-24
- August 31: 2023-24 symposium calendar set
- September 1: New grant year begins
