About This Session
Description
A popular interactive style of breakout session, Group Chat IRL (In Real Life) lets you get together in a small group and discuss a specific topic – just like your favorite group chat on a messenger service, but face to face!
The goal of these sessions is to share experiences and ideas, maybe commiserate a little, inspire one another – and network in ways that we just can’t easily replicate online.
Come join a facilitated conversation on literacy topics that matter.
What we'll cover:
In this session, facilitator Nancy Leonhardt will guide the conversation around questions of recruiting, onboarding, and supporting volunteers within adult literacy programs.
Volunteers can be the lifeblood of adult literacy programs, and their involvement in the classroom can turn a class into a community. But where do you find these gems? And how do you make sure they have the information and skills they need to deliver quality outcomes for the adult learners in their care? What are reasonable expectations and how can we have difficult conversations if something’s not working right?
Join other program managers and directors to ask questions and share your ideas, all focused on excellence in adult literacy.
