About This Session
Description
Partnerships can take many forms! In this session, learn about the creation and growth of the Alamo Workforce Consortium, and its innovative combining of community supports to provide wrap-around services in San Antonio.
What we'll cover:
In 2021, Workforce Solutions Alamo created the Alamo Workforce Consortium to expand its reach to job seekers being served by community partners. Consortium partners include nine key agencies committed to coordinating their collective contributions to remove barriers for individuals and families that are on their path to self-sufficiency through education, training, and employment.
The consortium combines community supports like financial literacy, housing, food, childcare, with education, training and workforce development. The Workforce Consortium has been able to enroll over 1,400 clients in training programs since its inception.
In 2022, WSA launched the Alamo Workforce Academy, an initiative designed to create Ambassadors in partner organizations. Workforce Academy transforms the nebulous activities of our large organization into a concise and accessible curriculum to help organizations and individuals better understand and share the services that we provide to clients and what career opportunities and jobs are available.
Ambassadors play a vital role in connecting people to resources and programs, furthering their careers in growing industries. WSA has 516 participants enrolled in the Academy and 287 graduates who are now Ambassadors in the region.
