Lessons Learned from Adopting Reading Fluency Technology in the Classroom

About This Session

Description

Tracking data is important but oftentimes can end up collecting dust due to the time-consuming nature of gathering, organizing, and tracking it. Join us for a discussion on takeaways from an adult literacy program’s integration of reading fluency technology created by a former student who has dyslexia, Amir Bar, CEO of UCNLearn.

Lara Speights, Vice President of Adult Literacy at Neuhaus Education Center in Houston, TX, will lead a conversation about results and learnings from a pilot program incorporating reading fluency technology into virtual adult literacy classrooms. Once students were trained in the program, they were able to complete practices independently so teachers could grade on their own schedules. Results were automatically graphed and shared for both staff and learners.

What we'll cover:

  • Review fluency and the research behind its importance in reading
