2022: August 1 & 2, Hilton College Station
In 2022, the Literacy Texas Annual Conference was held on Monday, August 1 & Tuesday, August 2 at the Hilton College Station & Conference Center. We welcomed 270 attendees and more than 20 exhibitors, and explored the theme “Literacy for ALL” during 42 breakout sessions and other dynamic learning activities.
Program highlights included the opening session, with guest speaker Mahalia Baldini of the Texas Workforce Commission, speaking on “The State of the State in Adult Literacy”, and the keynote address from Horacio Sanchez of Resiliency Inc., on “The Foundation of Adult Reading”.
We also presented our 2022 Annual Awards, enjoyed a VIP reception on Sunday evening, and distributed “Dinner Dollars” on Monday evening so folks could enjoy discovering College Station restaurants.
Includes breakout session titles and presenter names, opening and keynote speaker information, schedule, exhibitor list, and more.
2021: August 2 - 4, Airport Sheraton DFW
In 2021, the Literacy Texas Annual Conference was held over August 2, 3 & 4 at the Airport Sheraton DFW, with more than 200 people in attendance. It was a great pleasure to gather once again with our peers – even if socially distanced! – after our 2020 event went virtual, like so many others.
Includes breakout session titles and speakers, along with keynote speakers.
Many thanks and much gratitude to our premier sponsors for the 2021 annual conference, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and Essential Education. Our conference is also made possible through the generous support of the Texas Workforce Commission through their Volunteer Training Initiative. Thank you for being friends of literacy!
