About This Session
Description
Discover transferable workforce preparation skills in these areas: communication, working with others, critical thinking, self-management, digital literacy and interview skills. You will take away practical lesson ideas.
What we'll cover:
The strength of Cambridge’s Ventures Adult Learner ESL program lies in its sound and researched-based language learning pedagogy so that your adult students will learn the four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) and be able to communicate effectively in English before they get into a workforce or IET program.
And in addition to developing strong communication skills, students will also develop soft skills and transferable workforce preparation skills in these areas: communication, working with others, critical thinking, self-management, digital literacy and interview skills. You will take away practical lesson ideas and resources to use in your classroom.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify communicative activities in Ventures that practice all four skills
- Identify transferable workforce preparation skills
- Identify activities for implementing workforce preparation skills
- Identify key digital literacy activities that students can easily access and practice to increase their digital literacy and lead to digital resiliency.
