About This Session
Summary
How do we reach our adult students with a mature approach to beginning literacy?
How much input can learners with little to no literacy in their own language handle without being overwhelmed?
The presenter will review the difference between literacy instruction for children and for adults. Come and learn a thoughtful approach to helping our students hold fast to what they already know while developing skills more efficiently and successfully.
What we'll cover:
Explore interactive lessons to teach targeted letter, consonants, vowels, and high frequency site words taught in context with writing practice and lesson planning support.
Session attendees will have ready-to-use strategies for teaching literacy including a blend of emergent literacy strategies, beginning ESL, and classroom skills.
