Many of our students have a variety of educational goals, and just as many need the skills required to begin a career. Join us for an insightful session on academic and career development for Adult Education students, as we help them transition toward academic achievement and career placement.
What we'll cover:
In this presentation, we will explore practical workplace examples with a new 4-book series Career Power by New Readers Press. Attendees will learn strategies for using academic and career-focused skills, complete hands-on activities.
Participants will come away with resources they can use to drive instruction to help students reach their academic and career goals. It really is “Literacy and Beyond!”

This session will look at the 4-book series, “Career Power” from New Readers Press. This series focuses on lower level ABE students (4 – 6 reading level) to help build their academic skills, while contextualizing all instruction within workplace scenarios.
Books include Math in the Workplace, Reading in the Workplace, Writing in the Workplace, and Workplace Skills (yep, that’s the soft skills!)
