About This Session
Summary
In today’s dynamic work landscape, the interplay between hard skills and soft skills is pivotal for professional success. While hard skills provide the technical foundation necessary for specific roles, soft skills are the invisible threads that weave together effective collaboration, adaptability, and personal growth.
Regardless of what current trends want to call them, soft skills are essential to successful living. They can make or break relationships of all kinds. There are many resources and publications focusing on soft skills, but no matter which you choose, impactful instruction depends on the application of those resources.
Partnered with Houston Community College, we developed a supplemental course for welding students that included a focus on building soft skills through a book study and using complementary animation produced in partnership with the Greater Houston Partnership’s UpSkill Houston program. The result is a transformative training course equipped with a powerful blend of hard and soft skills to help learners navigate the ever-evolving professional landscape.
