Welcome to the Lead with Literacy Fundraiser!

On April 22nd at 7PM Central Time, Literacy Texas is joining forces with national radio co-hosts and language experts Martha Barnette & Grant Barrett of  Way with Words and Krys Boyd of KERA’s call-in-radio program Think, to present a “Lead with Literacy!” virtual fundraiser to support nonprofits teaching thousands of Texans to read and write.

This first-of-its-kind virtual event will put funds directly into the hands of 30 Texas nonprofits who are already helping 90,000 Texans experience the joy of literacy. This evening will feature presentations by Martha Barnette & Grant Barrett, a Q&A, and appearances from some of the many people who have directly experienced the difference literacy can make in one’s life.

By joining us to celebrate the joy of language and how the gift of literacy transforms lives, you’ll be providing that gift for even more people. Below, you will find buttons detailing the various ways you can get involved: buying tickets (1 per household), donating, and/or becoming a sponsor.

Help support our collective goal of providing literacy for every single Texan!

**Important: Keep an eye out — you will receive an access email on April 22nd by 5PM Central Time. This email will contain further instruction on how to access the Zoom Event!

Join A Way With Words radio co-hosts and language experts Martha Barnette & Grant Barrett with guests Krys Boyd of KERA’s Think, Cynthia Izaguirre of WFAA, and creator and host of What Would You Do?, John Quiñones, for an evening of conversation, entertainment, and generosity!
