Learning to Achieve Training

Learning to Achieve Training is a set of training materials designed for those who work with older youth and adults who have, or may have, learning disabilities.

New Director’s Training

Literacy Texas provides New Director’s Training for directors who have been on the job for three years or less. Nonprofit board members are also encouraged to participate in this training.

Training of Trainers

Literacy Texas provides adult literacy/adult education Training of Trainer workshops in the state of Texas. Literacy Texas facilitates the disbursement of reimbursement funds for the Volunteer Training Initiative administered by TCALL for programs participating in this training. The goal of these workshops are to give teachers/literacy tutors, who have some experience working with adult students, the skills and techniques needed to provide quality training/teaching for their organization.

WorkReady!

WorkReady! is a unique workforce readiness training tool developed for the traditionally underserved group of adult learners who are currently enrolled in literacy programs such as Adult Basic Education, GED preparedness or English as a Second Language. While it is not a curriculum, it guides administrators, instructors, tutors and students of community-based literacy programs through a process of infusing workforce literacy into an existing literacy curriculum. WorkReady! was developed by a national literacy expert, funded by a grant from Verizon and implemented by Literacy Texas.
